Spend Saturday May 7th exploring Brandywine Creek State Park with Pack 231
Campfire! Family Camping! Siblings welcome! Close to home!
You are not required to camp over - come for the day and have fun!
Schedule attached - lot of available time to enjoy the outdoors.
Brandywine Creek State Park is a great setting for a Cub Scout day of fun, and a very approachable overnight adventure close to home. The campsite access road is mostly paved, and parking will only be a short walk to the campsite. We have our own oasis nestled in the hillside, the perfect blend of ease of access with a remote wooded feel. Portable toilets are on-site and only for use by our group. There is ample room to set up tents in a large field, allowing each family plenty of space to maintain social distancing guidelines while enjoying time with the Pack. Adventure abounds with a number of hiking trails that lead to other parts of the park, and each Den will have a lot of time to explore. We will end the day with a campfire.
Each camper must bring his/her own drinking water. Recommended 2 gallons of water per person per day. Parking will be close enough that you could leave reserves in your vehicle. The Pack will provide utility water for hand-washing and fire safety.
Saturday lunch will be BYO - brown bag lunch for camp setup
Saturday dinner will be pizza, and Sunday we will have cold breakfast options available.
We hope to return to more traditional Pack cooking in the fall - with social distancing guidelines our aim is to keep the menu simple and minimize the amount of preparation and additional precautions inherent with group meals.
